Death certificate indicates she moved to New York City twenty years prior to her death, making the year 1866. But the 1855 Census shows the family living in New York in 1855. Emeline was reportedly born in Hastings in 1854, so maybe they moved there in 1854-1855? Harriet was reportedly born in Ohio (1860 Census, 1870 Census, 1880 Census. 1900 Census). I can no find no record of them being in Ohio circa 1840. Could Harriet be adopted? |
