In the Name of God Amen. I John Yerks of the Manor of Phillipsburgh in the County of Westchester and Province of New York being weak in Body but sound and perfect Memory blessed be God for it do this eight Day of July in the Year of our Lord God, one thousand seven Hundred and seventy two, make and publish this my last Will and testament in Manner and Form following That is to say, First I give and bequeath unto John Yerks the Son of my Brother Abraham Yerks deceased the Sum of five Shillings to him or his Heirs likewise my new Coat, Secondly I give unto my beloved Wife, Ann Yerks, a Trunk which is called hers and the Beds and Bedding belonging to them likewise all her apparell, Thirdly I give unto my Wife one full third of my moveable Estate to her forever. I give the remainder of my Clothing to be divided between my Brothers Isaac and Solomon Yerks or their Heirs, Fourthly, I give unto my Mother Rachel Miller and my Brothers Isaac Yerks , Solomon Yerks and Sister Ann Auser and kinsman John Yerks the other two third of my Moveable Estate to be equally divided among them or their Heirs, Fifthly I give unto my Brother Isaac Yerks my Farm which I have upon the Manor Phillipsburgh with this Promise that he shall take Care of my Mother during her Life, and my Wife shall have Liberty to stay there, if she will during the Time she remains my Widow she behaving herself as she ought to do, And I do constitute and order that my said Moveable Estate shall be sold at pubick Vendue ? withing (sic) three or four Months after my Decease and he said Moneys to be divided as above, And I do constitute and appoint my Wife Ann Yerks Executrix, and my Friend Jacob Ryder Executor in Trust for the Intents and purposes in this my Will contained.
